INSIDE TRACKS CASE STUDY:
In 1977, Robyn Davidson walked 1,700 miles across the Australian outback. National Geographic sent Rick Smolan to photograph her perilous journey—a trek that tested and transformed them, forming an immutable bond that continues to this day. INSIDE TRACKS, is a remarkable volume that presents Smolan's stunning images, excerpts from Davidson's memoir, photographs from the recent TRACKS movie (starring Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver), and a smartphone app.
Transmedia Highlights:
Using some very cool technology from our friends at Aurasma, simply point your smart phone or tablet at one of Rick’s pictures in INSIDE TRACKS and (like the newspaper in Harry Potter) a scene from the TRACKS movie will begin playing on your phone or tablet. For more information please click here
Once the Aurasma app is set up on your smart device it can be used to make images in the original National Geographic story and certain images in the Inside Tracks Traveling Exhibition come to life!
Inside Tracks interactive traveling exhibition has been displayed at the New York Australian Consulate, Annenberg Space for Photography Skylight Studios (Custom Interactive Exhibit), Olympus’ InVision Photo Festival, Photo District News PHOTOPLUS Expo, and Innovation Hangar.
Rick Smolan has spoken about Inside Tracks at every Inside Tracks Traveling Exhibition's Debut and at TedXBeaconStreet, National Geographic Seminar, Google, and Nat Geo Live. For speaking inquiries please contact American Program Bureau.
